Friday Records takes great pride in featuring the best new artists in all genres of music. In addition, Friday Records Music Publishing is an unlimited source of hit songs for albums, radio, television, and film, drawing from its roster of world-class writers. Our mission is to become a record label and publishing company known for delivering music of the highest possible quality, while refusing to conform to the practice of putting labels on musical creativity. Our motto at Friday Records is “If you label it, you limit it."
Formed by Tim Blixseth and Rick Jarrard, Friday Records began in 2001 with “Pray for Peace”, a song written by Tim Blixseth and produced by Rick Jarrard to raise funds for the children of the victims of 9/11. Since then, Friday Records has continued its involvement with important causes, such as helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina. “Heart of America," a song written by Tim Blixseth and recorded by Grammy award-winning Michael McDonald, country powerhouse Wynonna Judd, Terry Dexter, the First Full Gospel Choir of New Orleans, and Friday Records’ own platinum-selling Eric Benet, has raised over $125 million for the hurricane victims and their families.
Friday Records Music Publishing boasts an extensive list of artists who have recorded songs from the company’s catalog. These artists include country super star John Michael Montgomery, Darryl Worley, Diamond Rio, Beverley Mitchell from the hit television series 7th Heaven, Julianne Hough from ABC’s hit show Dancing With the Stars, Bill Gaither and the Gaither Family, Belgian Idol finalist Laura Ramaekers, famous Filipina artist Claire dela Fuente, Christian mega-groups Avalon and Crossway, American Idol’s Heather Cox, The Booth Brothers, Sierra, and Anadara Arnold.
Friday Records has reached great heights since its launch in 2001. The company’s success is a result of the hard work and daily hands-on dedication of owners Tim Blixseth and Rick Jarrard, as wells as Operations Manager and Creative Director Tendra Duff.
